About your guide

Your Scottish guide, Alan MacBeth, lives in the Highlands with his young family and is a Gaelic speaker. He is an experienced mountain leader with the following qualifications:

  • Mountain Leader 
  • Rock Climbing Instructor 
  • Mountain Bike Leader
  • Outdoors First Aider
He has experience working and volunteering as a freelance guide for various outdoors organisations throughout Scotland including Outfit Moray, Venture Scotland and Spòrs Gàidhlig. Alan is a member of the Mountain Training Association and is fully insured through them.
 

Alan is a Munro “compleator” and has over 25 years experience of climbing, hiking, wild-camping and mountain biking throughout Scotland and beyond. His adventure highlights include climbing the Dent du Geant in the Alps and, more recently, doing an unsupported round of all eleven Scottish island Corbett mountains. He also loves shorter walks and adventures with his young family in the beautiful Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
